The familiar voice broke into her thoughts. Not Elena. Not Katherine. Was it even possible? It had been so long since she had seen Tatia. They had been friends once. Close friends. Rebekah had taken a chance on the lost girl, befriending her when the entire village looked down on her for having a child out of wedlock. That didn’t change who she was though. They had been close once. It had killed Rebekah to learn she was gone.
Now she was here. Was this real?
“Tatia?”
[ Tatia couldn’t deny that she was surprised at first, thinking Rebekah might confuse her with Katerina or Elena easily, especially since no one had any idea she was alive and well. One reason she hadn’t saught out Rebekah was because she had feared that her best friend had hated her. Even if she had not intended for it to happen, she had been the person who had come between two brothers. Hoping for the best, she smiled at her old friend softly. ]
“Yes, I am shocked you recognized it was me so quickly. It has been a long time.”
